Featuring venues with capacity for 15-30 guests.

About Private Venues for 20 Guests

Twenty guests is one of the most satisfying numbers to plan for in New York City. It is large enough to fill a room with real energy, yet intimate enough that everyone actually talks to each other. This collection pulls together some of the city's best private and semi-private spaces built exactly for that sweet spot, from a nautical cocktail lounge on the border of SoHo and Greenwich Village to a celebrity-founded gaming hub steps from Grand Central. Whether you are planning a milestone birthday, a private dinner, or a close-knit corporate celebration, these venues prove that small gatherings can feel just as special as a full buyout. In 2026, more New Yorkers are leaning into intentional, curated experiences over massive blowouts, and this size group is leading that shift. The venues in this collection span neighborhoods and vibes, giving you real options no matter your crowd. At T-Squared Social in Midtown, a Party Suite or Golf Bay holds up to 20 guests in a semi-private zone loaded with games, simulators, and NYC's largest TV screen, ideal for a group that wants to compete as much as celebrate. Over in the East Village inside the iconic Webster Hall building, Deluxx Fluxx offers a private Blue Booth or Mirror Booth for 20, surrounded by original artwork, vintage arcade cabinets, and a blacklight room that makes any gathering feel like an event. For something more refined, The Folly's Private Mezzanine in SoHo seats up to 30 with craft cocktails and a seafood-focused menu, while The Farm SoHo Loft on Broadway brings rustic charm and 15-foot ceilings to birthdays and private dinners alike. If you want to venture into Brooklyn, The Love Shack in Bushwick is a genuinely one-of-a-kind designer loft built inside an ex-industrial building, with a fully equipped kitchen and a vibe unlike anything in Manhattan. What ties all of these spaces together is that they were built for connection. Private sections, curated food and beverage packages, and neighborhood character make each of these venues feel like a discovery rather than just a reservation. Browse the full collection below and find the room that fits your people.

Expert Tip

For groups of exactly 20, look closely at venues that offer dedicated semi-private or private sections rather than booking a corner of a larger room. T-Squared Social's Party Suites and Golf Bays are purpose-built for 20 guests with a minimum spend starting at $110, making them one of the most accessible private-feel options in Midtown. Booking a defined section gives your group a home base while keeping the surrounding energy of the venue alive around you, which is the secret to making a small gathering feel like a real night out.

Venue Selection Guide

How to Book the Perfect Private Venue for 20 Guests in NYC

Finding the Right Fit for Your Group

With 20 guests, you sit in a sweet spot where you can access genuinely private spaces without paying for a massive buyout. Look for sections specifically sized for your group, like the Party Suites at T-Squared Social in Midtown, the Mirror Booth or Blue Booth at Deluxx Fluxx near Union Square, or the Napoli Room at Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy. If your crowd is more dinner-focused, the Second Floor Mezzanine at Le Petit Village in Greenwich Village or the Speakeasy at Loulou in Chelsea offer intimate, beautifully designed private dining settings. Think about the vibe your group wants, whether that is a lively game night, a refined French dinner, or a craft cocktail crawl energy, and let that guide your neighborhood and venue choice first.

Understanding Minimum Spends and Budgeting

Minimum spends for private sections in this collection range widely, from as low as $39 at BeatBrush Studios in DUMBO to $3,500 at The Ten Bells on the Lower East Side, so it pays to check the details before falling in love with a space. For a group of 20, mid-range options like Whiskey Cellar in the East Village at $200, The Folly on the SoHo and Greenwich Village border at $200, and Everything's Jake at Union Square with no listed minimum for smaller sections offer solid value. Keep in mind that venues like The Farm SoHo Loft list additional fees for cleaning, security, and bartender services, so always ask for a full breakdown of costs beyond the base minimum spend.

Timing Your Booking and Event

In 2026, demand for private dining and intimate event spaces in neighborhoods like Chelsea, the East Village, and the West Village continues to be strong, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings, so aim to book at least four to six weeks in advance for weekend dates. Midweek bookings can unlock more flexibility and sometimes better attention from venue staff, which matters a lot when you want a personalized experience for a smaller group. If you are eyeing an outdoor option like the Cabanas at Loulou in Chelsea, note they are only available from April 15 through November 15, so plan your timing accordingly.

Questions to Ask Before You Confirm

Before signing anything, ask whether the space is fully private or semi-private, since venues like T-Squared Social list their Party Suites as semi-private while others like Whiskey Cellar offer full private buyouts of their entire venue. Clarify the food and beverage policy, particularly whether outside catering is permitted as it is at The Farm SoHo Loft, or whether you are required to use in-house packages. Also ask about AV and sound capabilities, as spaces like Deluxx Fluxx come with advanced sound systems and customizable LED screens, while BeatBrush Studios in DUMBO offers add-on DJ decks by the hour, giving you flexibility at a lower price point.

Neighborhood Tips for Getting Your Group There

Midtown venues like T-Squared Social and Nebula are unbeatable for transit access, sitting steps from Grand Central and Times Square respectively, which is a real advantage when guests are coming from all over the city or arriving from out of town. For a more local Brooklyn feel, DUMBO's BeatBrush Studios is a five-minute walk from the York Street F train stop, and Tørst in Greenpoint is close to the Nassau Avenue G train station, both solid choices for guests based in Brooklyn or Queens. Downtown Manhattan options like The Ten Bells on the Lower East Side and the LES Storefront Gallery on Allen Street benefit from the dense subway network around that area, making them easy to reach from most of the city.

Insider Recommendations for a Memorable Night

For something genuinely unexpected, book the Mural Room at The Ten Bells on the Lower East Side, a semi-private natural wine bar space that seats 22 and has been a beloved neighborhood fixture since 2008. If your group wants a night that feels like more than just dinner, the Karaoke Room at Nebula in Midtown holds exactly 20 guests and sits inside one of NYC's most technologically impressive venues, making for a fun and surprising combination of luxury and silliness. For a truly intimate private dining experience, the Cabana at Loulou in Chelsea seats up to 22 guests in a partially enclosed outdoor structure complete with hardwood floors, chandeliers, and climate control, making it one of the most charming and underrated private event settings in the city.

Frequently Asked Questions About Private Venues for 20 Guests

Minimum spends across these venues vary widely depending on the neighborhood and style of space. On the more accessible end, BeatBrush Studios in DUMBO starts at just $39, T-Squared Social near Grand Central starts at $110, and The Rose in Chelsea starts at $100. More upscale or full-service options like The Ten Bells on the Lower East Side start at $3,500 and Loulou in Chelsea starts at $8,000, so it is worth deciding your budget before falling in love with a space.
Which venues in this collection offer a truly private, enclosed room specifically sized for 20 guests rather than a semi-private section?
Several venues have dedicated private rooms that fit a group of 20 perfectly. Nebula in Midtown has a Karaoke Room for exactly 20 guests, T-Squared Social near Grand Central has both a Party Suite and a Golf Bay each capping at 20, and Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy has the Napoli Room for up to 25. If full enclosure matters to your group, these options give you a room to yourselves without booking an entire venue.
Are there any private dining options in this collection for a group of 20 who want a serious sit-down dinner with a real kitchen and menu?
Yes, a few standout options exist for true private dining experiences. Le Petit Village in Greenwich Village offers Provencal-inspired French cuisine with a private Second Floor Mezzanine for up to 30 guests, and the service style is described as polished and discreet. Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy, dating back to 1902, serves Southern Italian specialties with white-jacketed waiters in its private Napoli Room. Union Square is another strong hub, with Everything's Jake on East 13th Street just a block from the L, N, Q, R, W, 4, 5, and 6 trains. For Brooklyn-based guests, Grace and Ruby's in Williamsburg and TORST in Greenpoint are both easy G train rides from much of the borough.
Which venues in this collection are best for a group of 20 who want activities beyond just eating and drinking?
T-Squared Social near Grand Central is the clear standout for activity-driven groups, offering duckpin bowling, golf simulators, darts, ping pong, shuffleboard, and more across its party suites. Deluxx Fluxx in the East Village, housed inside the Webster Hall building, features vintage arcade cabinets, an immersive blacklight room, and customizable LED screens for a one-of-a-kind art and nightlife experience. If your group enjoys a more low-key creative vibe, BeatBrush Studios in DUMBO offers add-ons like DJ decks, sound baths, and craft supplies for a more hands-on gathering.
Are there outdoor or semi-outdoor private options in this collection that could work well for a 2026 spring or summer celebration?
Loulou in Chelsea offers private Cabanas described as partially enclosed structures with hardwood floors, chandeliers, and heating and cooling capabilities, available from April 15th through November 15th, making them ideal for a warm-weather gathering of up to 22 seated or 30 for a reception. The Folly at the SoHo and Greenwich Village border lists an outdoor area among its attributes and can accommodate up to 30 guests in its private mezzanine or table sections. For an artsy outdoor-adjacent option, the LES Storefront Gallery on Allen Street is a street-level space with a prominent facade and open layout that works well for cocktail-style events in the warmer months.
What should I look for when choosing between a semi-private section and a fully private room for my group of 20?
A semi-private section, like the Mirror Booth or Blue Booth at Deluxx Fluxx in the East Village or the Bar Space at Golden Hof in Midtown, keeps you in the energy of the broader venue while giving your group some separation, which works well for casual celebrations where the surrounding buzz adds to the fun. A fully private room, like the Napoli Room at Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy or the Karaoke Room at Nebula in Midtown, gives you complete control over noise, music, and atmosphere, which is better for speeches, presentations, or more intimate occasions. Consider whether your group wants to feel part of a lively scene or wants full privacy before committing to either setup.

Incredible food, experience, atmosphere, and staff. My favorite dish was the Rose Rigatoni. I really wanted to order a second one but had to hold back lol. We also tried the Fried Rice, Kimchi Jigae, and the Burger & Fries. Everything was packed with flavor, and the staff were attentive, kind, and completely on point. Ohhh, don't forget to leave some room for them honey pancakes. And definitely don't miss their happy hour 3PM - 6PM if you're in the area. I'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu.

Amazing birthday brunch experience! Brought my mom here during our weekend in NYC for her bday. Everyone acknowledged her birthday and made us feel welcomed as soon as we walked in. Iggy was our server and he was the best! Attentive and fun! He told us about the menu, made recommendations and got us started with some yummy mimosas. His service was great and the restaurant overall provided amazing service. The food was a 10/10. Steak and eggs and croissant French toast are a must! Will definitely be back and will request Iggy every time.
